In June of 1999 I decided to pray for my healing. I had been off of active duty with the Army for a little over a year and 46 years old. I was very sick. I was also tired of being sick and knew that I was not getting any better from the prescription drugs the doctors on base were giving me. I had a background in holistic health and had raised my two beautiful daughters on a wholesome, healthy vegetarian diet. But when I joined the army at age 33, I left a healthy lifestyle behind. Now 13 years later, I suffered from severe aura related migraine headaches weekly and had to give myself Imitrex shots, restless leg syndrome (RLS), and I had been diagnosed with gulf war syndrome of which manifested itself in weeping, itchy, scaling skin on my face, upper arms, neck and back. I also had toenail fungus (thickening of the toenails), hormonal imbalances, and some depression because of being so miserable.

So, I prayed. Moments after my prayer I came across a website about Young Living Essential oils, so I started reading about the oils and their properties. I was thinking, I need that one, I need rosemary and rosewood, lavender and peppermint and the list continued to grow. I stopped and prayed again. Lord, I don't want these to be "snake oils" and I want to find a woman who is kind and gentle that I can talk to about them. And Lord one more thing; don't have her try to sell me anything. I want to be able to make the decisions and I am in no mood to be pressured into anything.

Susan was my answer. I shared with Susan my ailments and illnesses and told her about the list that I had compiled from my research. Susan said, "Whoa whoa whoa, how do you know these oils will work for you? Why don't you start out with a few and if they work, great and if not you will not have invested very much." Wow! I was astonished, she could have probably had a very large sale, but I ended our conversation with ordering the Essential 7 kit (seven 5 ml bottles of oil) and 1 bottle of Mineral Essence™ which is a balanced, full-spectrum ionic mineral complex enhanced with essential oils. According to two-time Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling PhD. "You can trace every sickness, every disease, and every ailment to a mineral deficiency." Ionic minerals are the most fully and quickly absorbed form of minerals available.

I received my Essential 7 and the Mineral Essence about a week later. I would sit crossed legged on my bed and "play" with my new oils, rubbing them on the bottom of my feet and the back of my neck, putting a couple of drops in the palms of my hands and cupping my hands over my nose to inhale them deeply. I loved my oils, all of them. From that day on, I NEVER had another migraine. I took the mineral Essence 3 droppers full three times a day and by the third day, my restless leg was gone! I threw away all of the prescription drugs and I felt like I had embarked on a new life. My next order included Melrose which I used on my toenail fungus two times a day; by Christmas I had brand new toenails without fungus! In November I came down with strep throat, I went to the base and they gave me an antibiotic. I took the antibiotic as prescribed and 3 days after the last tablet, I had strep again. The base doctor told me that I would have to take the strongest oral antibiotic they had and "oh by the way, you will need to take this Diflucan, because you will get a yeast infection. I went home without filling the prescription and I called Susan. I told her what I had done and if there was any other way to get rid of the strep. She recommended I get Thieves™ oil blend, Super C (YL Vitamin C) and an herbal blend with essential oils called Exodus™. I had all three items overnighted and within 3 days no signs of strep.

That was the beginning and with my oils there is no end. I love them and tell people about them all the time. I began a business telling people about them in January of 2000. Eight years later, May 2008, I will be leaving my day job as a government contractor to pursue my passion of sharing these oils with anyone who will listen. They have truly changed my life!
